Stitches for Patients was
established in 2005 as a companion magazine for Stitches. But whereas
Stitches focuses on the physician, Stitches for Patients looks at
healthcare issues from the patient's perspective, offering insights on
disease and perspectives on what it is to be a patient.
Published
bimonthly, Stitches for Patients is unlike any other healthcare
magazine on the market in that it provides a forum for patients to
interact directly with each other and the larger healthcare community.
Stitches for Patients:
- Helps patients understand complex medical issues in easy-to-digest language;
- Reminds patients that they too are part of the process and have a voice;
- Stimulates and engages patients by inviting them to tell their personal stories;
- Treats patients as human beings and not just as consumers;
- Is a magazine that patients look forward to reading, making waiting times a lot more bearable.
