After a hiatus of 15 years, Health Canada recently released the latest version of Canada’s Food Guide, building on decades of research into nutrition and evolving dietary needs in the face of growing rates of metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity. In the process, the organization has taken its first steps to formally recognize the diversity of Canada’s peoples with respect to gender, age, and ethnic background.
