Several years back, when my oldest boy was in grade school, he came running into the house, too excited to speak.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Teacher says we’re having a test tomorrow, so I have to make sure I watch television tonight!”
“Watch television? What kind of test is it?”
“A TV test,” he said, quite matter-of-factly.
A quick check with the school clarified matters. The local school board was giving students a TB test. But I let him watch TV anyway.
