As a magazine targeting the medical patients, Stitches for Patients is primarily looking for health-related non-fiction articles, as well as longer-form anecdotes of events experienced by patients in the medical setting.
As a general rule of thumb, our features run 800-1200 words. Of primary importance is that the healthcare features be informative and that the longer-form anecdotes be amusing or interesting. For submissions that show promise, we will happily work with you to ensure that these criteria are met.
Stitches for Patients pays CN$0.40/word for first serial rights, payable on publication, plus the right to place the article on our Web site.
Cartoons
Stitches for Patients also welcomes cartoon submissions and generally pays a rate of CN$50/cartoon.
